Your guide to Snake

Start Snake by looking at the playing area and its controls. Keep collecting apples. Hitting a wall or your body ends the round; filling the entire board wins. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions. Make your first input carefully and watch the result. Use the example below to understand a decision.

Practice with a purpose

Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use. Refer to the controls when needed.

The purpose of your moves

Keep collecting apples. Hitting a wall or your body ends the round; filling the entire board wins. The feedback beside the game helps you follow the round. Notice how the game responds to your input.

The steps to play

  1. Press Play to start the movement.
  2. Turn with arrow keys, swipes or the on-screen direction buttons.
  3. Each apple adds ten points and makes the snake longer.
  4. Pause when needed or start a new round.

Controls

Keyboard arrows, swipe gestures or the four direction buttons. Play / pause controls the movement. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Contact us with the game and device if a control does not respond.

A closer look at one example

When moving right, you may turn up or down, but cannot turn immediately left into your own neck. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Read the matching step again.

Watch out for this

The snake continues moving between inputs. Plan a route with space to turn. Compare the situation with the worked example. When a decision goes wrong, compare it with the common mistake described below. Start again only when you intend to leave the current round.
